BIO: Bennett Lewis is a Nashville (formerly Athens, GA) based multi-instrumentalist, as well as lead guitarist and backing vocalist for award winning singer/songwriter Lera Lynn. A 2011 graduate of the University of Georgia, Bennett explored and contributed to the diverse Athens music scene, performing at local venues and collaborating with fellow Athens artists. Bennett is a proficient session musician and experienced guitar instructor.

Originally from Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, Bennett began playing guitar at nine years old. At fifteen, he placed second in a city wide search for the “Guitar God of Jacksonville.” He accepted a scholarship to the Berklee College of Music and spent a summer studying in Boston when he was seventeen. His desire to create music and surround himself with like-minded artists led him to continue his education in the musical mecca of Athens, Georgia.

Bennett has recorded with a number of artists, including Kevin Barnes (Of MontreaL), Orenda Fink (Saddle Creek Records), Ruby Amanfu, Ryan Monahan, Madeline, and Lera Lynn. He has toured both nationally and internationally, and has opened for acts such as K.D. Lang, Punch Brothers, Ryan Bingham, Sam Bush, Joan Osborne, Sarah Jarosz, Jim Lauderdale and more. Bennett draws his inspiration from a myriad of musical styles, comfortably performing many genres, including blues, country, bluegrass, folk, rock, and jazz.
